the internet is ruining my life

the presidential election is the one time every four years where people who otherwise don't read a newspaper are allowed to tell you what an idiot you are for choosing x candidate. and the boundaries of good taste do not stop at friends or family members, oh no, your grocer, co-workers, bank tellers...if prompted they will all, for the most part, be happy to inundate you with "facts" derived from whatever youtube video they just watched. a whole slew of new voters are blogging and facebooking their way to dramatic new heights of irritation for me. instead of trying to find a non-partisan fact site, people, with the click of a mouse can google for "obama is a jackal from kenya" or "mccain murders gay people" and BAM! a link! well, if there's a link on the internet, this story must be backed up with years of research and clearly defined fact, right?

there is nothing that gets my blood boiling more than a political discussion. not because i'm so hardpressed with love for my current chosen candidate that it bothers me, but more because if someone disagrees with me, the "you're an idiot" light comes into their eyes. who are you to tell me i'm wrong? and furthermore, why waste time trying to convince me that yours it the only correct choice to make? every single person has issues that are dear to them, and then the ones they could care less about. if you want to vote for john mccain this year, then do it! it's awesome that you're voting! if you want to vote for barack obama this year, then great! go vote!
and if you'd rather sit at home and dribble nestle quik down your chin while watching tranny porn then that's fine too, but leave your internet rhetoric at home. you're not smarter than me, you're not a better person than me, and you're not more educated than me.

i've made the right choice for my situation, and i'm sure you'll make the right one for yours. idiot.
