i took advantage of the freezing day and pulled the grass out of my flower beds by hand. ugh. it's amazing that, with the tenacity of bermuda grass, people have a hard time getting it to grow where they want. and those roots were 2-3 feet down and all twisted and ugh. again, i'm your grandma when it comes to the yard - i pull weeds by hand in july baby. hardcore.
i also experimented with gingerbread house decorations and let's just say that i don't think "snow aluminum siding" will ever be a big hit with the kids. i'll get some pictures for you, precious internet, as i left the mess over at my sisters for consumption. in related news, did you know that a sheet of homemade gingerbread has to cook for two hours? i can see how wilton is making so much money from the pre-packaged deals now.
for bargain news, linens and things is still not worth the drive, and in fact, might be a bit worse than usual. my sister and i hit up the one behind the parks looking for sheets this afternoon and they have employees EVERYWHERE watching out for thievery. 'cause you know the kids just can't get enough napkin rings. love 'em. the place looks like a busted down warehouse right now, so shop with caution.
