so let's see.
i went to meet with h, my little, last tuesday and she is great! adorable, really sweet, and not too terribly shy. we got along really well, and we've started our journey to the big brothers/big sisters inc. promised land. i'm taking her to see wall-e next week, and it's amazing how doing something that i see as so small means so much to her. i took her to mcdonald's after our initial visit last week, just to grab some food, and i could see the gratitude and amazement in her eyes that i wanted to do that for her.
just awesome.
in drunker news, we got back yesterday from a weekend in gruene with scott's soulmate seth and my friend jessica, and it was an AWESOME time! i'm usually super anxious about car trips, but these seemed to go so quickly that it wasn't a concern. we ate, drank, ate, drank, floated, drank, chuted, lost hat, tubed, ate, drank and slept. amazing.
i have to go back to work tomorrow after being off for pretty much five days and i really hope that i have a lot of stuff to do. you know, since i kind of don't have a job anymore. we should find out something more definitive next week, but we had a meeting last wednesday where they said "well, we've cut your budget from 4 million to...uh...zero. sorry about that - we'll find you something to do though, so, see ya!"
