dog dentist and ba-zing bedroom!

first things first - a very important announcement:

i just saw a commercial advertising the fact that an extended release of high school musical 3 on dvd will be released february 17th.

i need this movie.

please someone swear to buy it for me.

moving on.

the dog was admitted to our flawless vet's office (they saved him from parvo when he was two days old to us!) for a teeth cleaning. his teeth weren't bad by any means, but we were hoping to avoid future rough situations (poor lambykins) by getting him cleaned up now. jess, you put the fear in me. :)
anywho, so here is an example of the pup's teeth before the cleaning:

not bad for a three year old who just licks the beefpaste off when i try to get in there and brush his teeth. super long story short, they only got one side cleaned because when they had to put him under further anesthesia because he's 81 pounds, he reacted poorly and stopped breathing. :( :( :( :( they immediately activated the tube already placed down his throat to breathe for him, and put in the reversal drugs to wake him up. the vet is almost a hundred percent positive that it was just a one-off reaction because his blood and heart scans done before the procedure were both phenomenal. i told her if somebody's dog had to be a statistic, it would have to be mine. awful.
anywho, he recovered and is doing just fine now, but i still sobbed like a child for a few hours after receiving the vet's call yesterday. so we will take him back in six weeks to get the other side done, where she will use a seperate drug to ensure his comfort and vitality during the procedure.

in other news, i recently achieved a pretty big health milestone, so i told scott it was about time we tried to outfit our home with some grown-up furniture. we have worked to outfit the rest of our house with non-apartment stuff since we moved in, but hadn't touched the bedroom. so saturday morning we perused a couple of places and fell in love with this set, which was immediately purchased and put together by my hard working husband and fabulous brother in law.

forgive the paint stripe samples and lack of bedskirt. so lazy.

i believe this to be the best bedroom set every conceived by mortal man and love falling into it every night. still working on placement and (clearly) paint colors, but that will come together in time, my friends.
