amie's annoyances, round two

***the overly optimistic manager in meetings ***

post layoffs, my company has been having a ton of meetings in which everyone goes around the room and justifies their position. this is usually to the tune of ten minutes a piece, so i doodle on the agenda until it's my turn to say "no change here."

then there's THAT guy.
the one who gives 32 updates about things that not only don't concern the group, but don't interest the group and he is effing jazzed about all of them. his vocabulary is so limited that he has to resort to stunning adjective overuse. he also wrings his hands a lot and leans on the table for emphasis. i assume this is to give his galloping heart a rest and let the blood get back into his legs, but i'm not a doctor.
overly optimistic guy is also prone to nodding during everyone else's updates and writing notes on godknowswhat for some secret purpose. i can only assume he is plotting a hostile takeover, so i make sure to document any change in wardrobe, i.e. a parka.
you will not catch me unawares, sir. oh no. not me.
