100th post!

i realized today that sometimes i need to write stuff out. and that i was one post away from triple digit internet fame. and who am i to deny myself that kind of notoriety?!

nobody, that's who.

i'm on the road, traveling four full days a week for work for the next ten weeks. so far, i've only had one mishap that has made me want to be a headline, and it was yesterday in san francisco.

suffice it to say that they have voodoo parking meters, and WHY GOD WHY would you have a meter where you cannot park? what kind of sadistic whore does that to visitors? so with 30 minutes until i had to leave for the airport my piece of crap rental car got towed. you don't realize how alone you are in a big city until your transportation is gone. though you had cursed its piece of crap name for four days, that versa was my only transport and now it was gone.

and i was alone, surrounded by parking meters and iffy shoppers. all, i'm sure, staring at me as i just turned circles and walked around thinking "well, maybe it was a mercedes i had, not a nissan." and "maybe i parked a block over from here and this meter with 23 minutes left isn't mine after all!"

nope. all real. all $280 of it was real. :- san francisco is dead to me. i will never darken their bakery doors again, and will instead turn to internet delivery for their violently awesome sourdough bread.

i'll update more next week from the wilds of montana - home of 8 people.
