aren't you tired of being afraid?

i am.
you can't tune into any media outlet without bearing witness to the horrible financials that seem to resonate from every inch of the world.
layoffs.
shutdowns.
foreclosures.

why can't we harp on the good things? i'll tell you why - you keep people down by making them fear. if everyone was an optimist and went through life thinking that things were fine, people would try different things, talk to different people and learn something new. but by perpetuating fear and stereotypes and all the evil the world has to offer, it's easier to keep the sheep penned in. well baaaaa no more, my friends.

it's just really sad and today it's gotten to me.

i want to take a beautiful trip for our anniversary but the nagging in my head started with "should you *really* be spending this money? what if something happens? you'll regret it when you go."
but here's the thing. we work our whole lives, right? well, until all your good years are gone and you spend the rusty ones watching your ingrate grandkids for your ingrate kids.
so why not be okay with living within your means, but having a few adventures every now and then? who cares if your house has original carpet and your curtains don't match?
who CARES if your car is dirty and your dog hasn't been groomed?

people need to create more happiness in this world and you're not going to find it tuning in to fox news.

Well effing said, amie...

I've been trying to do much of the same. Daron and I have always been of the mindset that, while it is important to be mindful of the future, it is more important to be focused on the present.
