will and grace

i have been desperately trying to clean out our dvr and since lifetime plays will and grace 32 times a day...there is a lot to go through.

it was a pretty busy weekend, but i had such a good time! friday we managed to stay home and do nothing. saturday i spent with the hydes and we were talking until 4 in the morning! olympics, sex and the city movie, and chat. so perfectly awesome.
today, i woke up (at noon) and hastily made the apple dumplings to bring to a friend's bbq before my bb/bs class. the class was a lot of fun and it was nice to see that my struggles are not unique.

i've just felt like my "little" is disappointed with the process and that i should be doing more with her. i also can't help but feel like she doesn't like me because she barely squeaks out answers to questions and says "i don't know" all the time. i'm the one who calls and checks in and has to see whats going to go on and how her week has been etc.
uh, amie...she's a kid!
there were about 13 of us at the meeting today and we talked about safety, togetherness, self-esteem, signs of abuse (so awful) and other "watch yourself" topics. hearing each person share the story of their little was powerful for me. every person in that room, with the exception of one girl doing it for sorority hours, had chosen to entwine their life with that of a child who needed them. it really restored my faith to look around and see all walks of life want to join up and encourage a child. i'm proud to be a part of it, and the whole day made me feel a million times better about the process.

when i got home we ran off to lewisville for a friend's bbq, and his dad and i discussed scott and i's hopeful upcoming trip to germany. he gave me some advice on traveling times and months, so we're trying to get all the info together right now before i start losing myself in travel books and websites. :) such a great time with some awesome people.

i do have a question, dear internet.
i have a friend kevin, and his girlfriend julia, who have been dating for, i don't know, a year or so. they broke up once because, and i quote "she's boring and stupid" but got back together mostly because, and again i quote "she's a good lay". BLECH. he's 27 and she's 22.
she's going to europe over the summer to study at some conservatory, and they decided a few weeks ago that they would break up before she leaves, which is happening in 10 days.
um. why wait until she leaves? why not break up the day you decide to post-date that breakup check? am i the only one who thinks this is the dumbest crap i've ever heard?
and it makes it so much more awkward that he brings her to functions where she knows that WE know they're breaking up. ugh, it's so lame.
